Steven Borden, the son of the legendary Sting, has discussed his decision to become a wrestler and the moment that made him decide to be one.Borden chose to become a wrestler later than most wrestlers, having his first match just last year in his early 30s. The new AEW star got the wrestling bug when he appeared alongside his father at the 2024 Revolution pay-per-view, which marked Sting's final match in pro wrestling. Speaking on the "Good Karma Wrestling" podcast, he said he didn't want to regret not trying his hand at becoming a wrestler."Pretty much during Revolution at my dad's retirement match [is when I realized I want to be a wrestler]. Watching him kind of ride off into the sunset and realizing that, you know, my life is going to pass quickly, too, and I'm going to be his age one day, and I could either look back and say, you know, I took the step that I wanted to take, or I could look back and say, 'What if?'" said Borden. "I just didn't want to live with that 'what if' question. So, it was right after Revolution, pretty much."Borden appeared at the Revolution pay-per-view alongside his brother Garrett, with Steven dressed as nWo Wolfpac Sting while his brother was dressed as Surfer Sting. The duo even played a role in the tag team match involving their father, landing splashes on The Young Bucks.Borden made his pay-per-view debut at All Out, when he teamed with Darby Allin, and theBorden brothers are also set to team up at an independent show in November, with Garrett following in their father's footsteps and beginning his own wrestling career.
