The world of independent wrestling is in mourning as it has been announced that west coast wrestler and trainer SoCal Crazy, real name Nestor Bustos, has passed away at the age of 47 after a lengthy battle with colon cancer.SoCal Pro Wrestling announced the news via its Facebook page with a message that read: "Everyone here at SoCal Pro Wrestling is devastated to announce the passing of long time wrestler, trainer and most importantly he was our friend, SoCal Crazy! He was surrounded by family and loved ones since yesterday and fought to the very end. We want to send out condolences to all of his friends, family and fans... We'll post more soon."A staple of the independent scene in California, Bustos went on to have a career that spanned over 25 years. He made his debut back in 2000 and would cross paths with virtually everyone who stepped foot in California, including many famous faces still wrestling today like Adam Pearce and The Young Bucks. He would hold the New Wave Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship for a record 442 days, as well countless other titles in various promotions along the west coast. In 2022, Bustos was diagnosed with colon cancer, but that didn't stop him from continuing his wrestling career as he would be back in the ring after receiving medical clearance in April 2023. He would continue to wrestle for another three years despite his diagnosis, with his most recent bout coming at a SoCal Pro Wrestling event in June 2026. However, his cancer became more aggressive and he would be hospitalized a number of times in the months leading up to his eventual passing.A GoFundMe page has already been set up to help Bustos' wife, Khai Karma, who has been battling an autoimmune disease.Wrestling Inc. sends its condolences to Bustos' family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.
