The September 30 episode of "AEW Dynamite" saw the All Elite Wrestling roster, its staff, and its fans come together to mourn the passing of Benjamin "PAC" Satterley, who died on September 27 at the age of 40.Outside of the match between Will Ospreay and Ricochet, almost everything on the show was announced in the hours before airtime, including The Elite reuniting for the first time since 2023, complete with Kenny Omega appearing on AEW TV for the first time since AEW All In London 2026. On the latest edition of "Wrestling Observer Radio," Dave Meltzer detailed Omega and others made special arrangements to be on "Dynamite." "He flew in from Japan for this, he was not scheduled for this show," Meltzer said."The whole show was changed, and I knew it would be, but whatever was planned, everything was basically thrown out."Bryan Alvarez also noted that things that were planned for "Dynamite" were changed or adjusted so that certain people who wanted to be on the show could appear. One of those people was Mercedes Mone, who wasn't medically cleared to compete at All Out four days earlier, but Meltzer noted that Mone absolutely wanted to be on this show."Mercedes wanted to work on the show because of her fondness for PAC."The other two surprise appearances came in the main event. Wardlow made his return after a year out with injury, which was teased at All Out but a date for his return wasn't announced at that time. He reunited with The Don Callis Family to take on the Death Riders and a returning Bryan Danielson, who came out of retirement for one night only after making an initial appearance earlier in the night to reconcile with Jon Moxley. Please credit "Wrestling Observer Radio" when using quotes from this article, and give a H/T to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
