"The Tribal Chief" Roman Reigns has been keeping busy these days both in and out of the ring, with his movie "Street Fighter" set to debut next month, the week after he defends his World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at Money in the Bank. Reigns recently graced the cover of Men's Health magazine, and also sat down for an interview with the outlet. He revealed he is still fighting Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML), a disease that first took hold of him in his early 20s, during his college football days. He told Men's Health that while peptides are big in the fitness industry for recovery right now, CML is why he has to be careful with those types of things."With my medical history, I have to be very careful," Reigns said. "I'm still, to this day, down to the wire, fighting CML, so I have to be very, very careful when it comes to different things like [peptides...] Anything invasive, anything like that, I can't take a chance on... I've just been able to outwork everything at this point."In October 2018, Reigns revealed to WWE fans that his leukemia had come back, but he returned to the ring in February 2019. The "OTC" took a break from the ring in 2020, during the pandemic, to protect himself. He told Men's Health that while the leukemia remains in check, he's not considered completely out of the woods."We're under control and we're under the actual baseline, but to be in molecular remission, it has to be almost zeroed out, and there's just still those minute traces, like, .0031," he said. "But, it counts, so I still just have to be very careful."If you use any quotes from this article, please credit Men's Health and provide a h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
