Thea Hail's quest to regain the NXT Women's North American Championship ended in heartbreak as Zaria left her looking up at the lights on Tuesday night's episode of "WWE NXT."The challenger sought to catch the reigning champion off guard by charging in with a Kimura Lock right after the opening bell. Zaria, however, wisely backed Hail into the turnbuckle to break free. Hail found herself launched across the ring next before taking a series of shoulders from Zaria in another corner. A big boot shifted momentum into Hail's favor, but when she looked to follow with a hurricanrana, Zaria blocked it.Undeterred, Hail then targeted Zaria's limbs with an armbar. The red-haired Aussie managed to escape it, only to eat a knee to the face seconds later. Hail continued the assault on Zaria's arm with a series of stomps; to add further damage, she wrenched back her fingers as well. As the title match headed toward commercial break, Hail landed a dropkick, after which she prepared to dive through the ropes. Before she could connect, though, Zaria clocked her with a right hand followed by a discus lariat.In the bout's closing moments, Hail successfully cinched in the Kimura Lock. Still, Zaria managed to reach her feet and hoist Hail onto her shoulders. Hail briefly countered into a roll-up, only to get launched into the ropes on Zaria's kick out. Off the rebound, Hail then ate a spear. Zaria followed with an F5 to secure the win and ensure that the NXT Women's NA Title stayed in her possession.Hail previously held the title for 21 days before being dethroned by Izzi Dame in January 2026.
