CMLL World Women's Champion Persephone is still TBS Champion after an underhanded victory over Hyan on "AEW Dynamite." Britt Baker was on commentary, but didn't need to assist the champion, as Persephone used the ropes for leverage to retain the gold.Hyan wouldn't let Persephone overpower her to start off the match. The women traded pin attempts back-and-forth, until Persephone connected with a back elbow off the ropes, then stood with a boot on Hyan's throat. Hyan rallied and went on the offensive, but Persephone slid to the outside, where her challenger met her with a dive through the ropes.Persephone hit a springboard moonsault back in the ring, but when Hyan kicked out, Persephone backed her into the corner and nailed her with chops. Hyan connected with a big boot, then a lariat off the ropes to knock the champion off her feet. They traded roll-ups once again, and Persephone almost had Hyan pinned off a northern lights suplex.The champion had Hyan up for a Razor's Edge, but Hyan wiggled out of it and hit a spear that didn't keep Persephone down. Hyan sped around the inside of the ring to line up for a big knee to Persephone down in the corner, but Persephone got out of the way. Hyan went to the top turnbuckle to look to connect with another move, but Persephone countered into a pin, and hung on to the ropes to get the win.
