Just as the pieces were starting to fit in the puzzle that wasTessa Blanchard, CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre), and MLW, a new twist to the story has just unfolded.According to Fightful Select and its affiliate Fightful Espanol, CMLL representatives were on the interview call when Blanchard announced her signing with MLW on TMZ's "Inside the Ring" podcast. TMZ sources confirmed that information to Fightful.Earlier this month, "The Undeniable Diamond" and third-generation pro wrestler announced in her TMZ interview that she was set to appear at MLW Fightland, as part of its September 12 tapings in Charleston, South Carolina. CMLL, where Blanchard works as a full-time talent, pulled her from those tapings, stating that she was only supposed to make a one-off appearance there, as oppose to becoming a long-term contractual feature, which seemed to be what was projected in her interview. MLW subsequently removed Blanchard from its advertising. All of this comes just months after Blanchard left TNA. The former talent returned to her old stomping grounds of TNA in 2024. While on a three-year deal, Blanchard asked for her release from TNA this past June, after the company made her choose between staying with them or work for CMLL, where she's been a featured star over the last few years. Blanchard decided to maintain her allegiance with CMLL, and departed TNA immediately after. Both TNA and Blanchard remain cordial following her decision.Known to be a polarizing figure in the industry, Blanchard has always let her in-ring resilience speak for itself, as she is the only woman in TNA history to have ever held its World Championship.
