Lampards men, for the first time in the league this season, had a lead to protect something Bobby Thomas helped preserve when he athletically cleared off the line to prevent a certain goal after Igor Jesus had clipped the ball over Rushworth. With the atmosphere in the stands intensifying as the clock ticked past the 85-minute mark, the hosts thought theyd carved out an equaliser when Jesus pounced after Coventrys Caleb Yirenkyi stumbled in his own box. However, the VAR adjudged that Jesus had stepped on the heel of the midfielder and the goal was ruled out much to the delight of the travelling supporters. Forest failed to create any notable chances after that, as Coventry held on to pick up a memorable result and, crucially, a historic three points.
