Mims did not practice this week because of a foot injury, according to the Broncos' injury report.He left Monday's loss against the Chiefs in the first quarter with what was announced as a hip injury, but then returned to the game and played nine snaps overall on the night. He had missed some time in training camp after he limped off the field in early August and then left the Broncos' Aug. 28 preseason finale with a right foot injury.It's a significant issue for the Broncos given Mims is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and a first-team All Pro (in 2024) as a returner over the last three seasons and he has worked throughout camp and the preseason as one of the main receivers, with Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton, when the Broncos go to a three-wide receiver set.Mims, a second-round pick in the 2023 draft, is in the final year of his original rookie deal and scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent next March. He had two punt returns for 36 yards in Monday night's loss.The Broncos used cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine as the punt returner when Mims was not in the game against the Chiefs and the Broncos had elected not to use Mims as a kickoff returner in the game, putting running backs RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman back to receive kickoffs.Pat Bryant picked up most of Mims' snaps on offense and finished Monday's loss with four catches for 42 yards.
