EmailPrintORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Detroit Lions defensive back Avonte Maddox was carted to the locker room after suffering a foot injury during the first half of Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Bills.The team later announced he would not return.Maddox went down after a second-quarter collision with teammate Chuck Clark in the end zone and limped off the field next to team trainers before going to the locker room on a cart.Maddox's injury was yet another blow to the Lions' secondary, as star safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph remain on the reserve/PUP list, meaning they will miss at least the first four games.The secondary continued to struggle without Maddox and the Lions trailed 27-10 at halftime.
