Willow Nightingale will face Thekla at All Out to determine Mercedes Mone's challenger for the AEW Women's World Championship at WrestleDream.Mone won the title from Nightingale at All In, sustaining a broken nose in the process and thus being unable to defend it in Chicago next weekend. Thekla had also returned at the Wembley show, having previously lost the title to Nightingale at Redemption, targeting the Women's Champion and her fellow former champion.It was announced during this week's "Dynamite" that Nightingale and Thekla will battle for the opportunity at Mone at WrestleDream in October. The Number One Contendership match will actually be their trilogy contest, first locking up on "AEW Collision" in July last year, with Thekla picking up the win on that night. They stand at 1-1 with Nightingale's win at Redemption.If Thekla were to win then it would establish a first-time clash between her and Mone, having only tagged together when sharing the ring previously. For Nightingale, it would make their fifth contest; she beat Mone in their maiden contest in NJPW in 2023, going on to lose the TBS title to her at Double or Nothing 2024 and reclaiming it at "Dynamite: New Year's Smash" in 2025. Her loss at All In leaves their saga at 2-2.
