Cody Rhodes may no longer be the beloved babyface he was in the past, with WWE legend Bully Ray stating that he should be concerned about the fan reaction.Ray analyzed the recent "WWE SmackDown," where he pointed out how fans groaned when Randy Orton said that Rhodes was a good man. He feels that while fans aren't booing "The American Nightmare," they aren't fully on the Rhodes bandwagon."You didn't hear definitive boos; you heard groans," began Ray on "Busted Open." "[When Orton said] He's a good husband; he's a good father; he's a good friend [crowd's response was 'Ugh']. The people are at the point where they're like, 'Who gives a sh*t.' They're groaning at all of the positive things that Randy Orton is saying about Cody Rhodes because they don't want to hear about a good friend or a good father, about a good husband. They want to hear about a guy on a mission to kick people in the head and win a championship and will stop at absolutely nothing to go there. Cody Rhodes stopped. He hesitated at the moment of truth that marine would have been dead on the field of battle."Ray believes Rhodes should be worried about the crowd's reaction, but he did have a few suggestions on how WWE and Rhodes can remedy the situation.'If I'm Cody Rhodes, I'm concerned right now," he said. "On SmackDown, I believe they advertised the sit-down for next week with Michael Cole. Now I'm assuming it'll be pre-taped. Maybe it'll be live in the middle of the ring. But they gotta have some verbal ammunition to get people back on Cody's side And after what I heard from the fans this past week at SmackDown, I'm not quite sure it's possible."He thinks the problem with Rhodes and why fans are turning their backs on him is that he's wishy-washy. He feels the groans suggest fans no longer care about him, but he caveated by saying that any babyface in Rhodes' position would get groans from the audience.
