Viewership for the September 1 edition of "WWE NXT" increased, though, notably, Nielsen has yet again undergone changes to how it calculates ratings for the 2026-2027 season. According to the Hollywood Reporter, those changes took effect on the first of the month, just in time for the episode headlined by a confrontation for the NXT Championship.Wrestlenomics reported that the September 1 edition of the show drew 768,000 viewers, an increase of 22 percent from the previous week's 632,000 viewers. The show earned a 0.17 rating in the ever-important ages 18-49 demographic, an increase of 89 percent from the August 25 show's rating of 0.09. According to Wrestlenomics, "NXT" was seventh for the night on cable and broadcast among the demographic.Viewership for the show was up 20 percent from the trailing four weeks average, and 70 percent in the rating. "NXT" was also up compared to this time last year, up 19 percent from September 2025's average viewership of 647,000, and 31 percent from the average rating of 0.13.The end of the episode saw "NXT" General Manager Robert Stone make a six-man tag team match for the following week amongst challengers for Grayson Waller's NXT Championship, including EK Prosper, Keanu Carver, Tony D'Angelo, Cruz Montana, Saquon Shugars and Mason Rook. He announced the winners would go to face one another in a triple threat.Elsewhere on the show, NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan was challenged by Jaida Parker. Zilla Fatu defeated Tristan Angels, and Naraku once again used the mist on Shiloh Hill to get the victory.
