Two of TNA's top titles were put on the line during tonight's "Impact," while the company also continued building various storylines on the road to Bound For Glory 2026. With such a busy show, our crew had no problem finding things to love and to hate.Below, you'll find our thoughts on the current Avery Styles storyline, some positive developments in the Knockouts division, and Moose's decision to put his career on the line to be given a shot at Frankie Kazarian. Former World Champion Moose is willing to put his entire TNA Wrestling career on the line, for a simple rematch against Frankie Kazarian?I can understand Moose wanting a rematch against the self-proclaimed "King of TNA," especially after he inadvertently allowed Kazarian to win their Escape The Cage match at Lockdown. Is it really worth putting his job (in storyline) at risk, though?To me, the terms of this upcoming match seem pretty extreme and unbalanced. As far as we know right now, no additional stipulations such as a steel cage, no disqualification, or even Kazarian's newly-minuted crown have been added to it, which means the stakes are high for just one person, and that's Moose. If Kazarian wins, he'll get bragging rights as being the one to send Moose, a ten-year company veteran, out of TNA. If he loses, he doesn't actually lose anything; at worst, the score for their recent feud would be even and likely lead to a rubber match.Even more puzzling is the fact that these career-implications came out of nowhere. We know that Moose signed a five-year contract in 2023, which means he should have at least two years left there. The timing just doesn't line up.I'm all for weaponizing one's career as a match term when it fits the story surrounding it. This Kazarian-Moose narrative as is just doesn't seem juicy enough to warrant it yet, though.Written by Ella Jay
A few weeks ago after Lockdown aired, I wrote a love piece on Elayna Black's performance in her Knockouts World Title challenge against Xia Brookside. And this week, I'm giving her another love. Well, not just to her, but her match with Heather by Elegance tonight.Black and Heather put on a barnburner of a fight. I like that there was no B.S., it was a straight to the point wrestling match. Both women looked fantastic with their calls and responses. There weren't many shenanigans tonight by The Elegance Brand, which was a breath of fresh air for a change. Black's gut wrench suplex was crisp. I'm glad she came out the victor in this contest.I felt tonight's opening contest brought me back to a time when The Beautiful People roamed the Impact Zone, and I couldn't help but to smile a bit. As we know, TNA has changed its formula on how it handles its promotion now. A lot has been stripped down. However, its stripes haven't changed with how dominant the Knockouts Division truly is. I've stated it here before, but I'll state it again. Avery Styles' first official wrestling storyline had promise. After all, with his father AJ retired from in-ring competition, the next best companion for Avery's TNA introduction is someone who knows his father very well: Frankie Kazarian.In theory, Avery leaning on Kazarian while making his first steps in TNA should work. Kazarian knows the locker room, and wrestling as a whole, inside and out. Furthermore, Kazarian can lean into his history with the Styles name and make even more with this new generation. The execution has been far from successful, however.Last week. Avery merely stood in the background while Kazarian argued with Moose. This week, he did the same thing, only in a different setting. Even with the crowd chanting his name, the second-generation star didn't have a chance to utter a single word during the "King's Speech" segment.So far, Avery hasn't cast the best first impression, especially for someone who's related to one of the all-time pro wrestling greats. To be fair, though, it's difficult to make any impression if opportunities to wrestle, or even speak, are lacking.As a regular TNA viewer, I want to get to know the young Styles and see what he can bring to the table. Does he possess the same qualities as "The Phenomenal One?" Will he showcase something different? Or perhaps a mix of both? It may not make the most sense for Daria Rae to have chosen Gabby Forza as the new number-one contender for the Knockouts World Championship in order to block Indi Hartwell from receiving a title match in the context of their storyline, seeing as she's a heel manager who probably should've given the opportunity to another heel she wanted to help out. With the negative stuff out of the way, it was still fantastic to see Forza be given some time on television to gain some exposure to her form the TNA fanbase.I haven't been too familiar with Forza's body of work across the independent scene and have only seen her very limited number of TNA matches thus far, but I thought she really excelled in this match. She came out of it looking good despite taking the loss, because of Brookside hitting her with the Knockouts World Championship belt as a means of not weakening her too much in the early stages of her TNA career.It's really hard not to like Forza's bubbly demeanour and character as a little gnome, and injected a little fun into a show that was in desperate need of some of that. She showcased what she can do between the ropes by maximizing the short amount of allotted time that herself and Xia Brookside got for their Knockouts World Championship match.Written by Olivia Quinlan
While Mustafa Ali is sidelined, Jason Hotch is left to continue his feud with Ali's proxies in Order Four. But given that Mila Moore and Tasha Steelz are in a different division and John Skyler very specifically does not want to wrestle his best friend and former tag team partner, that left him with the slow and rigid Special Agent Zero. A character consigned to being a black hole for any and all excitement that is to ever come from between the ropes.How, then, did they decide to spice that up? It was special guest referee, and that referee was Mila Moore. Moore was the most recent member to join Order Four, brought in by Ali to the chagrin of Tasha Steelz, and unlike the others has zero allegiance to Hotch. So that match went about as well as one might expect not too bad.Until Moore got impatient and sought to screw over Hotch, drawing Steelz into the ring for a clash between them. Steelz then pulled on the referee jersey and made a quick three count before just calling for the bell to be rung. It wasn't rung, despite her gesturing for it to be a few more times, and she and Hotch retreated to the back to draw a close to the segment.What a mess, and a waste of time. There is such a lack of imagination when it comes to trying to sustain storylines on this program that it gets nauseating. Ali being on the shelf is understandably why the feud is not continuing as it was initially planned to be. But this is not an acceptable substitution for that.This was purely just to fill the slot and check a box for the week, as it did nothing to further the storyline in anyway. It made no difference to Hotch. In fact it arguably made him look stupid for celebrating like he actually thought he had done something. It made Zero continue to look worse. Moore and Steelz is being presented as catty and they deserve better than that. All in all, it was such a stupid way to finish a match.Written by Max Everett
Following weeks of animosity between the two, Matt Hardy was finally offered a chance at Nic Nemeth's TNA World Heavyweight Championship on tonight's show. Though Hardy didn't walk away victorious, fans got to experience a fun enough main event featuring two industry veterans one of whom likely has just a handful of singles title matches left in his career.TNA's creative department made the right call attaching a no-disqualification stipulation here, as it allowed them to play to Hardy's strengths and hide some of his weaknesses. Unsurprisingly, Nemeth took most of the damage here, but with the help of his brother Ryan, he was still able to put Hardy away in the end.It's still a pleasure to see Hardy in the ring, at 51 years old, with well over three decades of wrestling under his belt. He may not move like he used to, but no one can realistically say the man doesn't know how to put a match together. Plus, it's going to be fun to see Matt turn heel when it's inevitably revealed that Ryan was right, and Matt is the mystery attacker behind the assault on Jeff, Leon Slater, and others.Written by Nick Miller
