EmailPrintOpen Extended ReactionsFRISCO, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys continue to take care of their own, agreeing to a three-year extension with tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford, according to his agent, Mike McCartney.The deal is worth $18 million with $12.075 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN.Spann-Ford has developed into the Cowboys' No. 2 tight end behind Jake Ferguson after earning a roster spot as an undrafted free agent out of Minnesota in 2024. He was set to be a restricted free agent after the season, but the Cowboys now have him under contract through 2029. He was scheduled to make $1.075 million this season.Spann-Ford has 18 receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown in his first two seasons. He was known for his blocking skills when he came to the Cowboys but has become a bigger threat in the pass game. He has also been one of their better special teams' players, recording 23 tackles last year."You'd be remiss if you didn't mention Brevyn's play style, one, the physicality that he plays with, the wiring that he has," coach Brian Schottenheimer said of Spann-Ford in training camp. "Just a tough, physical football player that loves the physical aspect of the game, can be dominant in the run game and protection phase, but what he's developing from a pass receiving standpoint at the top of the route, the tight turns, the power cuts, things like that, that's where I've noticed the biggest game. And he's a big target."Last year, the Cowboys signed Ferguson to a four-year, $52 million extension. The Cowboys also have former second-round pick Luke Schoonmaker, who is set to be an unrestricted free agent after this season, at tight end on the 53-man roster.Since the offseason, the Cowboys have re-signed key players such as running back Javonte Williams, kicker Brandon Aubrey and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, while placing the franchise tag on wide receiver George Pickens.
