Vinod Khosla, wife Neeru Khosla and their son, Neal Khosla, are now the controlling owners.The NFL's other owners voted unanimously last Wednesday to approve the $9.612 billion sale, the highest purchase price ever for an NFL team."We are honored and excited to begin this next chapter," the Khosla family said in a statement. "The Seahawks are known for their championship culture, winning football, and a deep connection to the 12s and the Pacific Northwest. We look forward to engaging with the Seattle community and building upon the legacy and traditions that make this franchise so special. We would like to extend our gratitude to the investors joining our ownership group and to everyone who has supported us throughout the sale process."Vinod Khosla -- the co-founder of Sun Microsystems and founder of the venture capital firm Khosla Ventures - will have the title of chair. Neeru Khosla is listed as the controlling owner and president of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation, while Neal Khosla is listed as vice chair.The family will be formally introduced at a news conference next Wednesday at Lumen Field, where the Seahawks will open their season against the New England Patriots in a rematch of Super Bowl LX.Responding to a tweet on Wednesday, Vinod Khosla said he would "love" to have Jody Allen raise the ceremonial 12 Flag pre-game. Allen had controlled the team since her brother Paul Allen -- the Microsoft co-founder who saved professional football in Seattle -- died in 2018.According to Thursday's announcement, the Seahawks' new ownership group also includes: the Aramburuzabala family, Val Blavatnik, Sheryl Sokoloff, Gonzalo Hevia Baillres, Jesse van der Werf, Samir Kaul, Sunny Gupta, Nader Naini, Penny Pritzker, Carlyle and Dynasty Equity, and Sixth Street.
