
Daniel Garcia defeated Adam Priest in a play-in match to take Eddie Kingston's spot in the Continental Challenge Cup at ROH Death Before Dishonor.They started off with mat based work and exchanged submission holds. Garcia landed a dropkick and they exchanged blows in the corner. Garcia pushed Priest off the turnbuckle before wrapping his leg around the ringpost. Back in the ring, Garcia worked his leg. Priest uppercut him and suplexed him. He dragonscrewed Garcia's leg over the rope and followed with a stalling superplex. Priest continued working his leg with two more dragonscrews on Garcia. Garcia put him in the sleeper and transitioned into submission. He moved onto an ankle lock while standing on his head with one foot.Priest got back to his feet and Garcia chopped him repeatedly in the corner. They each had a leg. They exchanged blows & Priest nailed him with a clothesline. Priest worked his leg more. They both locked in figure fours and rolled out of the ring, still locked in. They rolled to the ramp and broke the hold when they heard the ref's count. Garcia shoved Priest over as he was getting in the ring, but Priest just made it in before the ten count. Priest locked in a single leg crab. Garcia struck him with elbows on his chest and then his knee before putting him in the Dragontamer for the win.On Friday evening, Tony Khan announced that Kingston wasn't medically cleared to compete. Garcia will face fellow Death Rider Claudio Castagnoli on " AEW Collision" to see who advances. Nigel McGuinness was scheduled to face Lee Moriarty at Death Before Dishonor, but was not medically cleared. Moriarty defeated Katsuyori Shibata to retain the Pure Championship.
