WWE fans initially thought they'd seen the last of Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, but it wasn't until four months later that "The Beast" marked his actual final match. On a recent episode of "Six Feet Under," Paul Heyman revealed how exactly he knew that SummerSlam 2026 would be the last hoorah for his long-time client."Brock has always been a realist about himself, and it's time," Heyman said. "I would hear this every year from him, 'Nope, this is my last contract. This is it.' And he meant it when he said it, but as we got closer, he would then change his mind or it didn't take a lot to talk him into it. But I knew that this was it, because he knew that this was it. He wasn't just saying it because he felt it at the moment. This decision was fait accompli."At WrestleMania 42, Lesnar fell victim to a Fall From Grace from Oba Femi, then seemingly signaled retirement by leaving his boots and gloves behind in the ring. One month later, however, he returned to take on Femi in a rematch at WWE Clash In Italy. With the score then even, the two faced off once more inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam, with "The Ruler" emerging victorious and hailed as the future of WWE by Lesnar.Lesnar, a multi-time world champion, announced his official wrestling retirement just days later. Heyman, visibly emotional at the idea of Lesnar's farewell earlier this year, has since accepted it."When you first break in, so many of the veterans would tell you, 'Be accepting of it. Don't fight against what the reality of the situation is,'" Heyman said. "It's the same as if someone comes to you today and says, 'Oh, we have this so perfectly built for you for WrestleMania.' You're gonna shut it down, immediately."If you use any of the quotes in this article, please credit "Six Feet Under" with a h/t to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription.
