EmailPrintOpen Extended ReactionsThe Seattle Mariners plan to call up left-hander Kade Anderson, the top pitching prospect in baseball, to make his major league debut against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Thursday.The 22-year-old Anderson, the third pick in the 2025 draft out of LSU, has a 1.06 ERA over 93 innings with 135 strikeouts at Double-A Arkansas, while giving up only 13 walks and 47 hits.Anderson was ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball in ESPN's August update.The Mariners, after Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, are in third place in the American League West, 4 games behind Houston. Seattle is three games out of the final AL wild-card spot, with five teams ahead of them also trying to get into the top three currently occupied by New York, Boston and Minnesota entering Thursday night's games.
