Kawhi Leonard and his future with the Los Angeles Clippers could finally be nearing a resolution, with a major update emerging on the NBAs investigation into his endorsement deal with Aspiration.The league has completed the fact-finding phase of its investigation into whether Leonards four-year, $28 million agreement with the now-bankrupt company was used to circumvent the NBAs salary cap.Leonard now believes the investigation could be completed before training camp begins in late September, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.That timeline could have major implications for Leonards expected move to the Toronto Raptors.Toronto and Los Angeles have reportedly been working toward a blockbuster deal that would send Leonard back to the franchise he led to an NBA championship in 2019. The transaction was agreed to on June 30 but was subsequently placed on hold because of the investigation.The NBA reportedly informed Toronto that it would assume the risk of any punishment imposed on Leonard once the trade became official.That has left both teams waiting for clarity before moving forward.The investigation centers around Leonards endorsement agreement with Aspiration, a company that had financial connections to Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
