Bryan Mbeumo marked another positive pre-season outing with a composed equaliser as Manchester United drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain at the Nya Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, though the afternoon was soured by injury concerns for Mason Mount and goalkeeper Tom Heaton. PSG made a blistering start, taking the lead inside two minutes when Ibrahim Mbaye latched onto a cross from Dro Fernandez and drove a right-footed finish home. The young PSG right winger, who has been pushing for a more prominent role under Luis Enrique, was bright throughout the opening exchanges and gave Uniteds backline little time to settle. The response from Michael Carricks side was encouraging. Mbeumo worked Matvey Safonov with a left-footed drive from outside the box before the Cameroonian striker levelled on 32 minutes, finishing clinically into the bottom right corner after a sharp exchange with Amad Diallo on the edge of the area. The two injury concerns will give Carrick pause for thought. Mount was forced off as early as the 19th minute, replaced by teenage midfielder Tyler Fletcher, after pulling up during a challenge in the United half. Heaton then followed him down the tunnel within two minutes of the restart, with Dermot Mee taking over between the posts.PSG, who also used the occasion heavily to rotate and assess their squad depth, saw Kvaratskhelia threaten intermittently throughout and Illia Zabarnyi had a powerful header well saved by Heaton before the goalkeepers exit.United looked to steal it late on. Harry Maguires rangy left-footed effort from distance was palmed over comfortably by Safonov in the 75th minute, while Shea Lacey blazed over from close range with six minutes remaining with the goal seemingly at his mercy. Bruno Fernandes, introduced in the second half along with Youri Tielemans and Joshua Zirkzee, then dragged a shot wide in the 89th minute to ensure the spoils were shared.
