EmailPrintOpen Extended ReactionsLOS ANGELES -- Rams coach Sean McVay said he doesn't have an answer to whether Aaron Donald will come out of retirement this season but said their former defensive tackle "looked outstanding" during his workout with the team Tuesday.Donald was listed on the NFL transaction wire on Wednesday as taking part in a tryout with the Rams, something McVay said was "kind of semantical to be able to use the equipment and things like that to fall under the legalities with the CBA."McVay said Donald, 35, worked out at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles on a players' day off during training camp. His session was with defensive line coach Giff Smith, along with senior vice president of sports medicine and performance Reggie Scott and senior director of strength and conditioning Justin Lovett."He's very deliberate and intentional about what this looks like," McVay said of Donald. "... Things are going in the right direction. He's feeling good, but we're not to where we are able to say whether or not he is or isn't ready to do it. But he's doing great and he looked outstanding as I think all of us would expect."McVay added that Donald will not take part in another workout with the Rams during this process but has "some other plans that he'll be able to do offsite on his own."While McVay has said he doesn't want to give a timeline for Donald's decision, he has indicated in the past that if he does return, he would be "all in."When asked whether he needs to see anything specific from Donald before a return, McVay added: "No.""He has earned the right to be able to say how he feels," McVay said. "I mean, I obviously saw the workout. I've been seeing the things that he's been doing. He and I probably talk every day. So it's one of those deals that if he wants to do it, we'd be excited about the possibility."And I think it's really important to acknowledge that if he doesn't, this guy gave this organization everything he had for 10 years. And so if he is going to do it, he's going to do it the right way. And if not, he's got a lot of cool stuff going on as a husband, as a father, and doing what he's doing business-wise."
