Nottingham Forest have confirmed head coach Vitor Pereira has left the club, with Oliver Glasner expected to replace him at the City Ground. Pereira took charge in February, becoming Forests fourth head coach of the 2025-26 season. The Portuguese ensured Forest avoided relegation from the Premier League as they finished 16th while reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League. But it was reported on Wednesday that Forest had exercised a clause allowing them to terminate Pereiras contract, and that was made official on Thursday.Forest are now seemingly set to turn to Glasner, who left his role at Crystal Palace at the end of last season, having won the FA Cup, Community Shield and Conference League in his time at Selhurst Park.Should Glasner succeed Pereira, he will inherit a squad that has lost its crown jewel, with Forest confirming earlier on Thursday that they had agreed a deal to sell midfielder Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for a fee up to 130million.A statement confirming Pereiras departure read: Nottingham Forest can confirm that Vtor Pereira has left his role as Head Coach following the Clubs decision to exercise a mutual break clause in his contract. His coaching staff Filipe Almeida, Luis Miguel, Bruno Moura, Marco Knoop and Pedro Lopes have also left the club.We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Vtor and his team for their hard work and commitment throughout their time at the club. They represented Forest with enormous dedication, helping to secure the clubs status in the Premier League, guiding the squad to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, and providing us with the foundations upon which we will continue to build.Everyone at Nottingham Forest is grateful for their considerable efforts and for the relationships they forged with our players, staff and supporters.
