
Manchester City have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign midfielder Elliot Anderson. The 23-year-old is set to make the move to the Etihad Stadium for a reported fee of up to �130million after an excellent 2025-26 season with Forest.Andersons development at Forest since joining from boyhood club Newcastle United in 2024 has seen him establish himself as a starter in Englands midfield.With the Three Lions through to the last-16 stage of the 2026 World Cup, City announced that the formalities of the move will be finalised upon his return to England.The club confirmed that Anderson had undergone a medical at Englands training base in Kansas.Anderson scored four goals and provided five assists last season as a tumultuous season saw Forest avoid relegation from the Premier League while reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League. A statement from Forest, who have terminated the contract of manager Vitor Pereira with Oliver Glasner set to succeed him, read: Nottingham Forest can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Manchester City for the transfer of Elliot Anderson. The necessary formalities will be completed in due course, allowing Elliots full focus to remain on representing England at the FIFA World Cup. The Club will pay tribute to Elliots outstanding contribution over the past two seasons at the appropriate time.
