Erling Haaland has scored on his very first appearance at the World Cup with Norway. In true Haaland fashion, the Manchester City striker wasted no time getting on the scoresheet, arriving in trademark fashion at the back post to bundle the ball home early against Iraq. It was his first goal at the tournament, but not his last. However, Iraq did hit back through Ayman Hussein, who finished smartly to level proceedings 10 minutes after Haaland had opened the scoring. But despite all their hard work, it was undone before the break.A mistake from the goalkeeper allowed Haaland to pounce and poke the ball into the back of the net for the second time.It was a let-off for the Scandinavian side, who had looked vulnerable a few times across the opening 45 minutes. But thanks to Haaland, they are now back in control heading into the second half.
