Christian Eriksen is doing well and is expected to be discharged from hospital in the coming days.The Denmark midfielder collapsed on the pitch during yesterdays friendly clash with Ukraine in Odense in worrying scenes that mirrored a similar incident during Euro 2020, after which the former Manchester United and Tottenham star was fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) a type of pacemaker.The game against Ukraine was abandoned, although Eriksen was able to walk off the pitch having regained consciousness, helped by players from both teams.Denmarks national team doctor Morten Boesen gave an update on the 34-year-olds condition this morning.Boesen said: I spoke to Christian this morning and he is doing well. He is with his family and is in good spirits. The expectation is that he will be discharged soon and can go home.We are taking good care of the players and staff and are in constant contact with them.Eriksens former team-mate advises him to quitEriksen now plays for German club Wolfsburg but his future looks uncertain.His former Spurs team-mate Andros Townsend advised him to retire.
