Jim Cornette isnt holding anything back, and hes now the loudest voice reacting to the growing controversy surrounding Zoe Hines WWE signing. Cornette took to Twitter and reacted to the Zoe Hines situation after reports surfaced about how she landed in WWE, and he didnt just criticize the move; he tore into it. Cornette essentially painted the signing as politically driven and went as far as suggesting the controversy alone could make Hines the biggest heel in wrestling right out of the gate. That reaction didnt come out of nowhere. It follows claims from Dave Meltzer, who said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Hines signing wasnt your typical tryout success story. According to Meltzer, WWE was pushed into bringing her in due to political connections involving Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Linda McMahonboth tied to Donald Trumps cabinet. Meltzer claimed this wasnt sudden either. Internally, he said the move had been expected for months, possibly even a year, and people within WWE werent exactly thrilled about it. Hines, a Boston College softball player, was introduced as part of WWE NXTs newest rookie class after Kennedy revealed the signing during an event with McMahon, even crediting her for helping make it happen. At the time, it looked like a standard athlete-to-WWE story. Now? Not so much. Between the backstage claims and Cornette lighting it up publicly, Hines walks into WWE with a lot of attention already on herand not the kind most rookies want. Fair or not, the narrative has shifted from opportunity to controversy. If she delivers, this noise could die down fast. If not, the label Cornette threw out there might stick.
