The backlash was instant, with fans using the moment to demand her return and call out WWE for cutting her before the storyline could be completed: #WeWantKairi TELL THE STORY!! Some fans went even further, directly calling on WWE to reverse course and bring her back: You know what would be special? Rehiring Kairi Sane #WeWantKairi. Another response took aim at how the situation was handled altogether, suggesting the entire storyline has already been compromised. This reaction didnt come out of nowhere. Earlier in the night during RAW, fans inside the arena were already chanting We Want Kairi during IYO SKYs match with Becky Lynch, showing that the frustration isnt just limited to social media. Now, with WWE moving forward with Iyo vs Asuka at Backlash, fans are making it clear theyre not ready to move on, and theyre using every platform to keep that message front and center.
