Vampiro has officially called it a career and he made sure to go out with one last win. The longtime wrestling star wrestled his retirement match at JCW StrangleMania during WrestleMania 42 weekend, defeating PCO and Big Vito in a three-way main event. The match ran about 10 minutes, ending with Vampiro hitting his Nail in the Coffin bodyslam on Big Vito to score the victory. Before the match began, Vampiro addressed the crowd and was presented with a trophy, marking the final appearance of his in-ring career. Vampiros retirement carries extra weight because he continued wrestling even after being diagnosed with Alzheimers disease in 2019. Despite that setback, he stayed active for years before finally deciding it was time to step away. Vampiro built a career that stretched across decades and multiple wrestling scenes around the world. In the 2010s, he found new success as a commentator and personality in Lucha Underground, where he also stepped back into the ring for memorable moments, including his storyline connection to Pentagon Jr. That role helped introduce him to a new generation of wrestling fans.
