Trish Stratus nearly had one of her most memorable match moments erased before it ever happened and it came down to Vince McMahon not being comfortable with the risk. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Stratus reflected on her cage match with Becky Lynch and explained how the match was designed to fully use the cage as part of the storytelling. She recalled planning a dramatic fall from the top of the cage something she believed she could safely execute but management initially shut the idea down because they had never seen it attempted before. She explained that despite her confidence in the move, Vince wasnt convinced it was safe enough to approve. Stratus said the move was actually removed from the match at one point, leaving her frustrated because she believed it would create a shocking moment for fans. Moments like this helped define the match and showed how much effort went into making the cage part of the storytelling instead of just scenery. Stratus pushing for that spot shows how much performers sometimes have to fight behind the scenes to make moments happen even when the idea eventually becomes one fans remember most.
