Chris Jericho waited over a year to step back into the ring, but his AEW Dynasty return ended in a tough loss using his own move against him. Jericho faced Ricochet at AEW Dynasty 2026 on April 12 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, marking his first match since last years Dynasty, when he lost the ROH World Title to Bandido in a Title vs. Mask match. The crowd made it clear they were behind Jericho from the start. Fans loudly sang his Judas theme as he walked to the ring, welcoming him back after more than a year away from in-ring action. Despite the long layoff, Jericho showed he could still go. The match stayed competitive throughout, with Jericho landing big shots like a Lionsault and even catching Ricochet with a Codebreaker during a key moment in the match. Late in the bout, Jericho tried to lock in the Walls of Jericho, but interference from Toa allowed Ricochet to escape before Jericho could finish the submission. Thats when things turned. Ricochet gained momentum and delivered a Spirit Gun before hitting a Lionsault Jerichos own signature move to finish the match and hand Jericho a loss in his long-awaited return. Losing with his own move made the moment even tougher for Jericho, especially after being out of action for over a year. It was supposed to be a major comeback moment, but instead it turned into a frustrating return for the veteran star.
