WrestleMania 42s card may already be set but now the actual match order is starting to come together. WWE has reportedly locked in the planned opening matches for both nights of WrestleMania 42, giving the first real look at how the show could unfold from the moment it goes live. According to WrestleVotes Radio, Night 1 on April 18 is currently set to kick off with the six-man tag team match featuring Logan Paul, Austin Theory, and IShowSpeed taking on The Usos and LA Knight. That placement is notable given the crossover appeal involved signaling WWE wants immediate attention right out of the gate. On Night 2, April 19, the current plan is for Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar to open the show a major matchup being positioned to set the tone early. The report also points to outside influence playing a role in that decision, with ESPN reportedly pushing for Lesnar to be featured prominently across its platforms something WWE was more than willing to accommodate. This update comes just days after ESPN officially revealed the full two-night lineup for WrestleMania 42 but while the matches themselves are locked in, the structure of the show is still being finalized in real time. The opening match spots are critical, especially for an event of this scale, and WWE appears to be leaning heavily into star power and mainstream visibility to start both nights strong. Of course, plans are still fluid, and changes could happen before the show but as it stands, WWE is already shaping how fans will experience WrestleMania from the very first match.
