Cody Rhodes wasnt done for the night after all. Earlier in the April 3 episode of SmackDown, Rhodes was taken out during the opening segment after Pat McAfee blindsided him and Randy Orton followed up with multiple chair shots. It looked like the Undisputed WWE Champion might be finished for the night. However, in an update later in the show, Rhodes returned during the final hour after the SmackDown Tag Team Title match. He attacked Kit Wilson with a CrossRhodes before grabbing a microphone to address what happened earlier in the night. Rhodes didnt hold back when talking about the reveal that McAfee was behind Randy Ortons mystery phone calls. He then made it clear that McAfee will be getting payback soon. Rhodes also hinted that the situation is pushing him to a different mindset as WrestleMania 42 gets closer. Rhodes return showed that the earlier attack didnt keep him down, and his message made it clear that the situation with McAfee and Orton is far from over as WrestleMania 42 approaches.
