The Los Angeles Lakers continue to roll, and in the process, JJ Redick quietly added another major achievement to his coaching rsum.Following a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Redick secured the 100th victory of his coaching career while also guiding the Lakers to a 50-win season, their second straight under his leadership.The milestone places him among notable names in franchise history, becoming the 12th Lakers coach to reach the mark and the first since Phil Jackson to deliver back-to-back 50-win campaigns.Dont deserve to be mentioned along with Phil or Pat, any of those guys, Redick said after the win. Ive got a lot left to accomplish, for sure. I think both teams, Ive had the same staff for the most part both years, I think we are resilient and we are resolved. Part of that is like what I talked about pregame in terms of just not willing to quit on a problem that sometimes seems unsolvable. And then just the resolve of wanting to win all the time. We have competitive guys in our locker room and I got some sickos in the coaching staff.Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka made sure to celebrate the achievement, even organizing a surprise that included recorded messages from Redicks sons, a personal touch during a night filled with team milestones.I think for our players, theyve done a really good job both seasons with a lot of challenges, most of them unforeseen, of just staying the course and not letting go of the rope, Redick added. And I think for our staff, an 82-game season is going to present a lot of different challenges and problems and just continuing to work to solve those problems. Thats what it says. Its hard to win 50 games. I was fortunate, outside of the shortened seasons I was part of, I think 10 of the 12 years I was part of 50-win teams. I know what it looks like to win in the regular season.
