My focus is here for now. Then, the World Cup coming up so we'll see after that."According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Fernandez is on Real's list of targets should they fail in their pursuit of Manchester City star Rodri. And the 25-year-old, who joined from Benfica for 106.8million in January 2023, did little to quash the rumours when speaking to YouTube channel Avirales this week: "I'd like to live in Spain, I really like Madrid; it reminds me of Buenos Aires. Players live where they want. I'd live in Madrid. I get by [speaking] English, but I'd be more comfortable in Spanish."Fernandez's Chelsea contract does not expire until 2032, so the club would be in a strong position if it came to negotiating a fee for the midfielder - but his comments will hardly increase confidence among fans that he is committed to the Blues long-term.TOPICSMarc CucurellaEnzo FernandezChelseaPremier LeagueJames RobertsFreelance writerJames Roberts is a freelance sports journalist working for FourFourTwo.
