The road to WrestleMania usually hosts big WWE shows. When SmackDown rolled through the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for their March 30 episode, this was certainly the case. Carmelo Hayes has been a strong United States Champion. That being said, hes faced big tests every single week with his open challenge. This week, he faced someone who he couldnt beat. Sami Zayn is on a mission to become a champion in WWE again. Previously in the night, Zayn took a shot at Trick Williams when the recent call-up got mouthy after Nick Aldis told him he had a WrestleMania match. That is when Zayn got a determined look on his face to snag a Mania match. Trick Williams made his way out before this match started so he could get a closer look. This match was a back-and-forth encounter for a bit, with Carmelo Hayes gaining momentum before they cut to a commercial break. When we came back to the contest, this back-and-forth match continued. It was quite a war between the two Superstars, and fans in Pittsburgh were pretty fired up for the action in the ring. Each near fall got fans even more excited, and they eventually cheered Sami on as he missed a Helluva Kick. The two battled on the top rope and came down crashing together as the show went to another commercial break for fans to watch picture-in-picture. When we came back, Carmelo Hayes rallied and nailed a First 48 for a near fall. This match continued and Melo missed a Nothing But Net as Sami hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall. Then Trick Williams grabbed the US Title and he threw it in the middle of the ring. Sami picked up the title, and the referee took it as Sami was pushed into Trick, but Williams accidentally punched Melo. Then Sami Zayn hit a Heluva Kick to win the match and become new United States Champion on the road to WrestleMania. Whats your take on Sami Zayns US Title win this week on SmackDown?
