Booker T is shutting down the narrative completely making it clear that his NXT Appreciation Night had nothing to do with the Wrestling Observer Awards. Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T directly addressed Bryan Alvarezs comments suggesting the tribute was WWEs response to Booker being voted Worst Television Announcer, where Alvarez claimed: That line of thinking didnt sit well with Booker at all and he immediately fired back without hesitation: Thats the dumbest thing Ive ever heard. From there, Booker broke down why the claim doesnt add up, calling out the contradiction in how people are trying to frame WWEs intentions toward him. He then took it a step further, pointing out how inconsistent that narrative sounds when you look at how hes been treated at different times. Booker made it clear that, to him, the night was either genuine or it wasnt and hes firmly on one side of that line. He then shifted the focus to what the moment actually meant, explaining that the recognition had nothing to do with outside noise and everything to do with his impact on the business. And finally, Booker delivered his strongest message yet directly warning against pushing the Observer narrative any further. He didnt stop there, doubling down and calling out the logic behind the claim. And to make absolutely sure there was no confusion, Booker closed it out with a definitive statement. Bottom line Booker T isnt entertaining the theory for even a second. As far as hes concerned, the NXT tribute was earned, real, and completely separate from any awards or outside criticism. Do you think Booker T is right to shut this down completely, or do you believe there could still be something behind the timing of that NXT tribute? Drop your thoughts below and leave your feedback.
