Stone Cold Steve Austin is shutting down the rumors about a possible WWE return on one of the most fitting dates imaginable. With Monday Night RAW taking place in San Antonio, Texas on March 16 also known as 3:16 Day speculation had been circulating that the Texas Rattlesnake might show up for the special occasion. However, Austin has now made it clear that wont be happening. During an interview with TakeDown on SI on March 16, 2026, Austin was directly asked whether fans should expect to see him appear at RAW in his home state. The WWE Hall of Famer encouraged viewers to watch the show but confirmed he wont be there because hes focused on his racing career. The Texas Rattlesnake then explained that hell be spending the time preparing his off-road racing vehicle instead of heading to the arena. For now, hell be in Nevada, so theres no chance of him appearing on Raw tonight. This effectively shuts down the idea that Austin could appear at the March 16 episode of RAW, which had gained traction after speculation that WWE might bring him in for the symbolic date in his home state. Earlier reports suggested that people within WWE were hopeful the Hall of Famer might show up for the show in San Antonio, noting that it would have been his first Monday Night RAW appearance in years. Austin has remained very selective with WWE appearances in recent years. His last major in-ring return came at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 when he defeated Kevin Owens, and he has only made occasional appearances since then. While the timing of RAW in Texas on 3:16 Day seemed like the perfect setup, Austins comments make it clear hell be focused on racing instead of stepping back into a WWE arena.
