Excalibur was noticeably absent from the March 11, 2026 episode of AEW Dynamite and a new report has revealed the reason why. The longtime lead voice of AEW programming was absent from the broadcast, leading many fans to ask online what happened to the masked announcer during the show. According to PWInsider, the situation was fairly straightforward. Excalibur simply wasnt able to make the taping after falling ill. It was reported that several readers had reached out asking about his absence, which prompted clarification about the situation. With Excalibur unable to appear, AEW had to adjust the commentary booth for the night. Instead of the usual lineup, the broadcast featured Bryan Danielson joining Ian Riccaboni and Tony Schiavone to call the action. Excalibur has been one of the most recognizable voices of AEW since the promotion launched in 2019, so his absence didnt go unnoticed by viewers tuning in to Dynamite this week.
