The 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event was a big night in Chicago. The Windy City packed the United Center to see the Second City Savior do his thing. The World Heavyweight Championship was on the line when CM Punk defended his title against Finn Blor. With pride, history, and home-field advantage woven into the rivalry, this match added a ton of intensity to the card. A few weeks ago, Punk defeated Blor in Belfast, Ireland, handing The Prince a loss in his own home city. That result did not sit well with Blor, who had the chance to return the favor on Punks turf. This match went on third on the card, right after CM Punks wife, AJ Lee, won the Womens IC Title. Fans were already super pumped about Lees win, and then they got Punk right after that. CM Punk received a special Chicago Bulls-inspired entrance, complete with World Heavyweight Championship flags coming down from the big screens. Then he came out and everyone scream-sang Cult of Personality. Fans were on fire for this match, but CM Punk took a bit of abuse throughout. Finn Balor stayed on the Second City Saint, and he soaked up every ounce of heat he could. Balor was able to avoid a GTS to stay on Punk. CM Punk was bleeding from the mouth as he got on the top rope to nail his elbow drop. He was too slow to make any quick pin. Then Balor nailed a Sling Blade to regain control of the match. The match kept going as Finn Balor sent CM Punk through the ringside barricade with a shotgun dropkick. However, Punk tried for a GTS, but Balor nailed a slingblade and another shotgun dropkick in the corner, but Punk reversed a Coup De Gras attempt into a Sharpshooter. Then Punk was able to hit a GTS to win the match and retain the title. We will have to see what WWE brings to the table on the road to WrestleMania. They certainly brought a lot in Chicago, and now we have a much better idea who will face Roman Reigns, who won the 2026 Mens Royal Rumble match.
