A Texas grand jury has declined to indict former NBA guard Patrick Beverley, bringing an end to a felony assault case that stemmed from an incident last fall in Fort Bend County.The grand jury returned a no-bill on Monday, determining there was not sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial, according to ESPN. Beverley had been arrested in November following what police described at the time as a family violence incident at a home in Rosharon, Texas.Patrick wants everyone to know that he would never do anything to harm his sister and that he is very grateful that the grand jury has recognized that with their no-bill, Beverleys attorneys, Rusty Hardin and Letitia Quinones-Hollins, said in a statement. He is thankful for all who prayed for him and supported him during this time. He is glad that the process was allowed to work as it did and his hope is that with these charges behind him now, his name and reputation will be restored.At the time of his arrest, Beverley addressed the situation in an unsigned statement posted to social media, explaining the circumstances that led to police being called.He was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister, the statement said, via ESPN.
