Big E may be officially retired from in-ring competition, but that doesnt mean there werent plans on the table before he closed that chapter. Earlier this month, Ettore Ewen known to WWE fans as Big E confirmed his wrestling career is over, years after the neck injury that ultimately ended his time in the ring. Now working regularly on WWE premium live event pre- and post-show panels, Big E has shifted fully into broadcasting. But unfinished business with The New Day nearly became something more. Speaking on 107.7 The Bone, Big E revealed that creative discussions once included the idea of him seeking revenge on Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods following their controversial actions during The New Days 10th anniversary celebration on Raw. Still, Big E made it clear that mindset and priorities have changed. He also took a subtle shot at The New Days recent visibility on WWEs biggest stages. That comment strongly suggests the potential revenge storyline quietly fizzled out before it ever reached television. Beyond WWE, Big E is expanding his media rsum even further as host of the NFL draft analysis series The Evaluation. After signing with WWE developmental in 2009 and never wrestling outside the company, he leaves behind a career that includes a 2021 WWE Championship reign and a decade-long run as part of one of the most successful factions in modern WWE history. While the door to in-ring action is officially closed, Big E appears fully committed to his next act this time behind the desk instead of inside the ropes.
