That remains the case after Wednesday. The duo were second in rhythm dance behind the French duo of Laurence Beaudry Fournier and Guillaume Cizeron before the free dance portion. Bates and Chock took home silver, while Beaudry Fournier and Cizeron earned gold. Canadians Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier won bronze.Chloe Kim made her Milano Cortina debut on the snowboarding halfpipe qualifying round. Racing after suffering a torn labrum in her shoulder last month, she finished in first place to qualify for the finals and continue her quest to become the first snowboarder to win three straight Olympic gold medals.
