WWE has lost one of its most respected behind-the-scenes team members. Jim Shank, who worked for over 26 years in production. Shank died this past Friday, following a lengthy battle with colorectal cancer just weeks after celebrating his 60th birthday. Shank joined WWE in November 1999 and rose through the ranks to become Technical Operations Manager, a position he held until his passing. In recent years, he was best known within the company as the operator behind WWEs robotic and remote-controlled camera systems, playing a critical role in the look and feel of the live shows fans watch every week. Shank was beloved behind the scenes and always considered to be one of the nicest people who worked in the company with tributes pouring in from coworkers, crew, and talent alike. Last year, Shanks friends and WWE family rallied around him through a GoFundMe campaign that raised over $200,000 to help fund a new therapy he had begun undergoing. The fundraiser saw massive support from within the companyincluding a $122,000 donation from Vince McMahon himself, along with contributions from numerous current and former WWE executives and staff. Shanks dedication, kindness, and quiet impact on WWEs presentation over the past two decades will not be forgotten. Were you familiar with Jim Shanks work behind the camera?
