Andrade is speaking out about his WWE exit and his return to AEWand hes not holding back.

Speaking during an interview with Highspots Network, Andrade reflected on his time in WWE and why returning to AEW feels like a better fit. The former NXT Champion didnt mince words when asked about the difference between the two companies.

He also acknowledged the flexibility AEW offers, including the ability to take breaks and work outside promotions. So you can take some of these vacations, right? the interviewer asked. Andrade replied: Yes, I know.

This comes on the heels of major contractual drama. As reported by Fightful Select, Andrade was released by WWE in September 2025, with an expected one-year non-compete clause. However, by December 12, his contract officially ended, and he was back on AEW TV by January 7, 2026.

The swift turnaround raised eyebrows, as WWE contracts typically enforce strict non-compete terms. Sources told Fightful that Andrade was introduced to a longtime WWE-affiliated attorneyvia RUSHwhich helped move negotiations along and ultimately waived the non-compete. All parties reportedly handled the exit professionally.

Andrade is now eligible to work in any company, giving him the kind of freedom he says was lacking during his WWE stint. In the end, Andrade feels hes better off in AEW now, and thats what matters to him.

Do you think Andrades comments reflect a growing trend of talent favoring AEWs flexibility over WWEs structure? Drop your thoughts below and let us know where youd like to see him full-time.
