Trey Miguels AEW journey ended before it even beganbut now it looks like his next chapter might be a return to familiar territory.
According to Fightful Select, TNA Wrestling has been in contact with Miguel about a potential return following the abrupt collapse of his AEW debut plans. Miguel, who had quietly agreed to terms with AEW, was pulled after past social media comments resurfacedsparking corporate-level concern and drawing comparisons to the Jay BriscoeWBD situation.
AEW never officially confirmed Miguels signing, but backstage sources and Wrestling Observer Radio made it clear: the deal was dropped in response to public backlash surrounding years-old remarks. Despite Miguels prior apology and a show of support from former peer David Starr, AEW reportedly stepped away under pressureespecially given Warner Bros Discoverys sensitivity to past controversies.
Now, TNA Wrestling appears ready to offer Miguel a lifeline. Talks are ongoing between Miguel and the company he previously called home. Miguel is a former X-Division Champion. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted:
Bryan Alvarez added that AEW had tried to bring Miguel in as far back as 2020:
Miguel hasnt issued any further public comments since his emotional message confirming he was stepping away from the business and asking fans for space. But with TNA now reaching out, the door to pro wrestling may be reopening sooner than expected.
