Just hours before his match on the January 20, 2026 episode of WWE NXT, Sean Legacy received the kind of news every young wrestler dreams aboutdirectly from Shawn Michaels himself.
In a newly released video posted by WWE, The Heartbreak Kid officially welcomed Sean Legacy as a full-time member of the NXT roster and revealed that he would be competing in the tournament to crown a new NXT Champion.
Michaels praised Legacys development and mentioned how effective WWEs Next In Line (NIL) program had been in preparing him for this moment.
He didnt stop thereShawn added that Legacy wouldnt be eased into the waters, but instead thrown straight into the deep end as part of the high-stakes tournament to crown a new champion on February 3.
