The WWE Raw on January 19, 2026, went down at The SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This was a very fun show for fans all around the world, even those in the USA who got the show a bit early this week.
With the Royal Rumble coming up on January 31 in Saudi Arabia, its anyones guess who will be pointing at the WrestleMania Vegas sign at the end of the match. During this weeks RAW, that subject was a big one.
GUNTHER opened up the show in Ireland, and he had a ton of heat on him. Then he made a bold declaration that he will be in the 2026 Royal Rumble match.
Then AJ Styles came down to issue a Royal Rumble challenge for a singles match. GUNTHER turned down that match, and then AJ Styles taunted him. Styles isnt happy about how their match ended last week.
Finally, GUNTHER said that his answer is still no, because there is no incentive to wrestle AJ Styles again. Then GUNTHER turned around and said that there is an incentive, he wants Styles career on the line.
The Ring General knows a thing or two about competing in the Royal Rumble. GUNTHER holds the record for the longest time spent in a single, traditional Royal Rumble match, lasting an incredible 1 hour, 11 minutes, and 40 seconds. He beat Rey Mysterios record with that performance.
Only time will tell what is next for GUNTHER, but he is certainly focused on the big match. It appears that he may be working double duty as well.
