On the January 16, 2026 episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt gave fans a real update on his brothers condition following Jeffs revealing that hes been working through two bulging discs in his neck.
While Jeff continues to perform in TNAincluding an upcoming TNA Tag Team Title defense against The Righteous at GenesisMatt confirmed the healing process is still ongoing: Hes feeling better. Its a very slow process.
Matt explained that the Hardys are actively consulting with medical professionals to find the best way to ease Jeffs pain without immediately jumping to surgery. He noted that someone with specialized experience will be evaluating Jeffs condition soon.
The good news? The discs havent worsened and may even be improving. Matt also talked about other wrestlers who have undergone minor proceduressuch as shaving down disc tissueand returned to the ring in good shape. But Jeff, he said, wants to avoid anything invasive if possible.
Looking ahead, Matt sees this experience as a turning point in Jeffs approach to wrestling. Rather than pushing through recklessly, Jeff is learning to adapt and work smarter.
