AEWs womens division just added an international weapon.
On January 14, 2026, AEW President Tony Khan took to X to announce that CMLL star Persephone has officially signed with AEW under a dual-contract agreement with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The deal allows her to continue competing regularly in Mexico while also appearing across AEW programming. Khan made the announcement himself, praising the newest addition to the roster.
Persephone has been building serious momentum in CMLLs womens division, where shes developed a reputation for her aggressive offense, athleticism, and commanding presence. She has competed against several top names in Mexico, including Stephanie Vaquer, La Catalina, and Tessa Blanchard, and has also represented CMLL internationally during FantasticaMania tours in Japan.
Her signing continues AEWs push to bring in elite international talent, particularly from the lucha libre world, and further strengthens the working relationship between AEW and CMLL.
This isnt just another signing announcement its a signal that AEW is still actively investing in global womens talent and positioning new faces for real opportunities on television.
